ductionisbasicallyGdefenseless”inthisregard.Theproducercansufferalmost

completelossesinadverseconditions,whilewhenotheractivitiesreliantonthe

environment(e.g.construction,transportation)arefacedwithadverseconditions,

theresultisunrealizedgains(profits)andpossibleminorlosses.

Theabove-mentionedbiologicalandtechnologicaltraitsofagriculturalproduc-

tioncausetheeconomicrelationswithinagribusinesstobecometheleastadvan-

tageousforagriculturalresources.

Pricesofthemeansofagriculturalproductionareovervaluedcomparedtoother

products.Asaresult,themarketpositionofagricultureisworseningcomparedto

otherbranchesofthenationaleconomy,whichisfurtherstrengthenedbyarigid

demandforfood.

Theconstantproblemofincomedisparitybetweenfarmersandotheroccupa-

tionalgroups.Itistheprimarydeterminantoftheagrarianissue.Moreover,it

bearsmentioningthatruralareaseitherlackcivilizationalinfrastructureorhave

lessofitthancities.Thisentailsreducedaccessofruralpopulationtolargesu-

permarkets,publictransport,banks,restaurants,stadiums,cinemas,theaters,

publicadministrationoffices,highways,thesubway.Avastmajorityofthisin-

frastructurehasbeenfinancedbypublicfunds,andinpracticeisonlyavailable

totheurbanpopulation.

Agricultureprovidessocietywithpublicgoods,including:thequalityofthe

landscape,environmentandspace,whilereceivingnocompensationforit

.In

thissituation,agriculturebenefitsfrompublicinterventionsonanationaland

EU-widescale.

2.3.ThestructureofPoland’sagribusinessanditschanges

ThestructureofagribusinessbothinPolandandothereconomicallydevelopedcoun-

triesisundergoingchanges.Thisarisesfromdevelopmentprocessesintheeconomy

ofagivencountryorgroupofcountries.Thesechangestothestructureofagribusi-

nessarelinkedwithanincreaseintotalproductionandgrossaddedvalueofthe

foodandtradeindustry.Simultaneously,thepresenceofagricultureitselfandthe

supplyindustryisshrinking(forreasonsenumeratedabove).Thus,theparticipation

ofagribusinessatlargeinthenationaleconomyisshrinking,whileitsproduction

isexpanding.
