weatherdata,weatherpublications,observationandanalysisofcurrentweather
conditionsareanimportantelementintheimplementationofthevoyageplanning
processbyofficersofthewatch(OOW)i
Contemporarynavigationisaprocessthatrequirescarefulnavigationprepara-
tionbynavigationofficers,excellentknowledgeofnavigationalequipmentandits
capabilities,itistheprocessing,analysisanduseofalotofinformationiAteverystage
ofthevoyageplanningprocess,humanbeingsareimportantiThehumanerrorsthat
veryoftenaffectedtheprocesscanbeminimalizedifallstagesofthevoyageplanning
arecarefullyplanned,preparedandundustedbyabridgeteamiInternational,na-
tionalandcompanyrequirementsarealreadyinexistenceforthevoyageplaniThe
percentageofseaaccidentscausedbyhumanfactorsisextremelyhighiSomeof
sourcesgives70percentbutmostlyabout85percentandmoreiLessofsituation
awarenessistheleadingcauseiWorkpracticesandBridgeResourcesManagement(BRM)
arethemostinfluentialfactors[10]i
