-aimedtostudythecultural,socialandeconomictransformations
whichoccurredincommunitieswhosepastwasconnectedwiththe
heavyindustry.Teresearchincludedboththemechanismsofdevel-
opmentofnewindividualandgroupidentitiesandtheattemptsto
preservetraditionalidentities.Tepurposeofthedetailedanalyses
wastodeterminetheinfluenceoftheeconomictransformationson
thechangesinthesenseofanuattachmenttoplace,Cprivatehome-
land’andtheirsignifcancetoindividualChistory’andsocialbelong-
ing”(Wódz,2013:14).WerefertotheresearchconductedbyProfessor
K.Wódz,hencethisbookcontainsovertreferencestoRestructuring

Silesia.Associologistswewishtoemphasisethatitisimportantto

tationsisdeterminedwithintheconceptionofBausingerforwhom

fromtheUniversityofSilesiaunderthedirectionofProfessorKazimieraWódz.
