Introduction
TheimportanceofinternationalizationinhighereducationinPoland
increasedafterjoiningtheEuropeanUnion.Itopenedthepossibilityof
implementationofawesternmodelofeducationinthe3+2systemandtaking
courseswithECTScredits.Overthepastseveralyearstherehasbeenamarked
increaseinthelevelofscholarisationinhighereducation,enablingPolish
youthtoexperienceunprecedentedaccesstohighereducation.Theopeningof
bordersallowedasignificantproportionofstudentstostudyabroad,mainly
withintheframeworkoftheErasmusprogrammeandnowtheErasmus+.
Thedevelopmentofinternationalizationhasledtosignificantcurriculum
changes,universitieshavetakenactivestepstoincreasethelanguage
capacityofstudentsanddoctoralstudentsbyopeningspecializations,study
programmesanddoctoralstudiesinforeignlanguages.Someuniversitieshave
signedagreementswithforeignuniversitiestoopenjointstudyprogrammes
anddiplomas.Inspirationsfortheseactivitiesaretherecommendationsof
thePolishAccreditationCommittee.CooperationwithEasternEuropean
universitiesisparticularlyimportantforPolishuniversities,especiallyin
Ukraine,withthelargestnumberofstudents,over30,000.MobilityDirectisan
exchangeprogrammethatwasintroducedespeciallyforstudentsfromEastern
EuropeandAsia.TheshareofPolishuniversitiesinEuropeanprogrammes
andresearchnetworksisstillincreasing.Cooperationwithforeigncentershas
beendevelopingformanyyears.Moreandmoreinternationalconferencesare
beingheld,andforeignauthorsaretakingpartinourpublications.Theroleof
Polishscientificjournalspublishedinforeignlanguagesisincreasingaswellas
ourparticipationinforeignpublications.
Departmentsconnectedwiththedisciplineofpoliticalscience:faculties,
instituteshavebeenactivelyparticipatingintheprocessofinternationalization
foryears.Wearepresentinallacademicventuresandinmanyofthemwe
standoutin,forexample,European,EasternEuropeanissues.Foryears,
politicalsciencedepartmentshavebeencooperatingwithuniversitiesacross
allcontinents,undertakingresearchactivities,jointlyorganizedconferences,
