Thediscussionwasheldinvariousformats,includingbreakoutsessions,open
space,gallerywalk,andpresentations.Inthispartofthepaper,Idiscusstheoutputs
ofthisdialoguewithoutlinkingtheseoutputstospecificsessions,problemgroups
workingaspartofthesessionsandparticularproblemsdiscussed.Likewise,Ido
notlinkthestancespresentedinthispartwithspecificcontributors.Allthisisdue
totheconcisenatureofthepaperontheonehand,andethicalissues,forexample
maintainingexperts’anonymity,ontheother.Istartwiththekeyaspectsofdigital
strategies,i.e.theaimsandcomponentsofthesestrategies.LaterIdiscussselected
problemsofshapingthedigitalenvironmentinruralareas.Theorderinwhich
Idosodoesnotreflecttheimportanceoftheseissuesasexpressedbytheexperts.
4.1.StrategiesforDigitalisationofRuralAreasandAgriculture-
AimsandComponents
Digitalisationshouldnotbeanendinitself.Onthecontrary,accordingto
theEIP-AGRIexpertsthelistofgoalsthatcanbeachievedwiththeproperuse
ofICTsislong.Nonetheless,fromtheperspectiveoftheEC,themostcrucialare
thosewhichmakeitpossibletoachieveCAPgoalsmoreeffectively.Thisparticularly
appliestothegoalsinthenextprogrammingperiod,whicharetheonesIfocus
oninthepaper.
Tomakeadigitalfuturehappen,itisrelevanttoincreasetheaccessibility
ofICTsviaahigh-qualitydigitalinfrastructure.Intermsofreliabilityoftheservices,
theexpertsfirstandforemostpointtobroadbandand5G,whicharethelatest-
generationtechnologies.Alternativestotheseareready-to-usetechnologies,that
istechnologiesthatdonotdemandthebuildingofanyspecialnewinfrastructure.
