Introduction
ingthecharacteristicsofrespondentsandearlierindicatedresearchar-
eas.Theresponsesarepresentedintheformofdescriptiveanalysisand
graphicalpresentation(tablesorgraphs).Theanalysisincludedthree
mainareasofactivitysurveyed.Thefirstisassessmentofpersonalsit-
uationandtheenvironment,includingtheassessmentofthematerial
situationandevaluationofone’splaceofresidence.Thesecondareaof
theanalysiswastodeterminethelevelofgeneralizedsocialtrust,trust
inselectedindividuals,certainprofessionsandinstitutions.Besides,an
attemptwasmadetoidentifythemostimportantfactorsandcharacter
traitsofindividualsfromthepointofviewofthecredibilityofindividuals
andinstitutions.
Thethirdareaofresearchconcernstheevaluationofcivicandsocial
involvementofresidentssurveyed.Theanalyzedelementsincludethe
senseofagency,spontaneouseffortsforthebenefitofothersandnear
environment,initiatingandvoluntaryparticipationinsocialactions,at-
titudestowardscommongood,interestintheactivitiesofsocialorga-
nizations,participationinlocal,parliamentaryandEuropeanParliament
elections.Theresultsofthestudyarepresentedseparately(intwosec-
tions)withtheideathateachpartcouldconstituteaseparateelement,
andatthesametime,bemorereadableinordertofacilitatetheanalysis
ofnumerousstatisticalinformationandanswerstoquestionsposedin
thesurvey.
Thefifthchapterisakindofcomparativeanalysisofpreviouslyiden-
tifiedelementsofsocialcapitalinthesurveyedprovinces.
Thepublicationconcludeswithasummaryofconsiderationsandma-
jorproposals.
