Abstract

Themainaimofthepaperwastoinvestigatebusinessstudents’attitudeanditsimpactover

thefutureprofession.Atthesametime,thestudyexaminedtheattitudeofboth,maleandfemale

studentsandemployedandunemployedstudentstowardcourses,seminars,andmethodsusedfor

assessment.Inordertoaccomplishthis,aquantitativeresearchbasedonaquestionnairewascon-

ducted.Thestudywasaddressedtograduatestudentsfromeightdifferentmasterprogramsfrom

oneofthebiggestbusinessschoolsinRomaniathatenrollsmorethan2000graduatestudents.The

independentt-testprovedthatthereisnodifferencebetweenmaleandfemalestudentsregarding

theirattitudetowardcoursesorseminars,orbetweenemployedandunemployedstudentsregard-

ingtheirattitudetowardseminarsorassessmentmethods.However,itseemedthatbusinessstu-

dentsthathaveajobtendtohaveadistinctviewaboutcoursesthanthosestudentswhodonot

work.Thestatisticalanalysesshowedthereisapositiveassociationbetweenbusinessstudents’attitude

andtheleveloftheirusefulnessintheirfutureprofession.Thefindingsofsucharesearchcouldprovide

decisionmakersfrombusinessschoolswithvaluableinsightsabouttheteachingprocess.

Introduction

Theliteratureonattitudedescribestheconceptasbeingrelatedtosome-

one’slikingordislikingofsomething[Maze,1973].Insuchrespect,theattitude

isseenasacategoryofbehaviorthatistheresultofseveralevaluativeprocesses.

Studentsmayexpresslikingordislikingofacertainsubjectbecauseofemo-

tions,expectations,andvalues.

Thegoalofthispaperistoassessthewayinwhichbusinessstudentsde-

veloptheirattitudetowardcourses,seminars,andassessmenttools.Understand-

ingstudents’attitudetowardallthesewillenableprofessorssupportingtheir

interestinschoolandmoreover,itwillhelpthemimprovingtheirmethodsin
