Teselectionprocesswasdifcultaswereceivedsixty-threesubmissionsthisyear

(notincludingsomearticlesthatweresubmittedafterthedeadline).Tiswasaslight

increasefromthepreviousyear,whenwehavereceivedﬁfty-ninesubmissions.Wecan

observethatoverthelastﬁveyearstherehasbeenamodestbutsteadygrowthofinterest

amongscholarsinpublishingwithus.

Amongthosearticlestimelysubmitted,sixpapersweresubsequentlywithdrawnby

theauthors,whileabout10%oftextswererejectedbecausetheirsubjectmatterwasnot

sufcientlyconnectedtopublicorprivateinternationallaworEUlaw(thesenumbers

werequitesimilarinpreviousyears).Onepaperwasrejectedbecauseoftheauthor’s

infringementofpublicationethicsandacademicmalpractice,thedetailsofwhichare

providedonourwebpageinthedocumententitledKInformationforauthors”.

Teforty-onesubmissionsthatpassedtheinitialassessmentbytheBoardofEditors

weresubsequentlyreviewedbyatleasttworeviewers(insomeinstances,whenthe

reviewswerenotconclusiveorsharplydilered,weengagedathirdreviewer).Tis

yearaltogetherforty-sixreviewerswereinvolvedintheprocess,seventeenofthem(i.e.

36.95percentofthewholegroup)havingafliationoutsideofPoland.Tefulllistof

thereviewersisavailableattheendofthevolume.Twenty-sixreviewersreviewedfor

usfortheﬁrsttime,whiletheresthadshorterorlongerexperiencewiththeYearbook.

Inouropiniontheyalldidanexcellentjob,oleringsuggestionstotheauthorsonhow

toimprovetheirworksandallowingustoselectthebestsubmissions.Wewouldlike

totakethisopportunitytosincerelythankallofthemfortheirhardwork,expertise,

andtime.

Inouropinion,thequalityofthetextssubmittedtousthisyearwashigh.Asacon-

sequence,weconsideredforpublicationonlythosesubmissionsthatreceivedatleast
