stockoftheawarenessofourtime.Iusedmyknowledge
ofthecraft,myintuitionandmyintelligence,tonotewith
increasedclaritythepovertyofmymethods
incomparisontomoderntechniques.Ihavebeen
conqueredbythehero-miracleofourage,themachine.
Toitbelongbeauty,revelations,testimonies,the
recordingofhistory.Toitbelong,intheend,truthful
dreamsandpublicdemand.
Asforme,Iproduceawkwardobjects.This
absurdandconvulsivemaniaprovestheexistence
ofanunknown,secretgland,necessaryforlife.Yes,this
maniacanbereducedtoasinglegesture,withinthe
reachofusall.Butthisgestureissufficientuntoitself,
itistheconfirmationofourhumanpresence.
Mygestureisaddressedtothehumanbody,
“thatcompleteerogenouszone,”toitsmostvagueand
ephemeralsensations.Iwanttoexalttheephemeral
inthefoldsofourbody,inthetracesofourpassage.
ThroughcastsofthebodyItrytofixthefleeting
momentsoflife,itsparadoxesandabsurdity,
intransparentpolyester.Myworkisdifficult,assensation
thatisfeltinaveryimmediateanddiffusewayisoften
resistanttoidentification.Ofteneverythingisallmixed
up,thesituationisambiguous,andsensorylimitsare
erased.
Despiteeverything,Ipersistintryingtofix
inresinthetracesofourbody:Iamconvincedthatofall
themanifestationsoftheephemeralthehumanbody
isthemostvulnerable,theonlysourceofalljoy,all
sufferingandalltruth,becauseofitsessentialnudity,
