SiberianandMongolianshamanshavebeenethnographicallydocumented
towearfeatheredheaddressesandmanycanbefoundondisplayinmuseums
aroundtheworld.Onebeautifulexamplewascrownedbyeaglefeathersand
wornbyaTofalarfemaleshamanin1908(Pentikäinenetal.1998:146).Her
headdressandcostumewascollectedfromtheIrkutskregionofBuryatia,but
