oneundatedBulletin,referencedonlywiththenumber4(preparedcertainly
aferNovember1946andbeforeOctober30,1948).Duetothelackofthe
titlepage,itisdifculttodeterminewhethertwoadditionaldocuments,i.e.,
[“Materiałyzodprawy”;Briefingmaterials]and“Namarginesienarodowej
dyskusji”[Onthemarginofthenationaldiscussion],filedinthefolder“Biule-
tynyInstrukcyjno-Szkoleniowe1945-1951”,canberegardedastwosubsequent
issuesoftheperiodicalinquestion.39Itispossibleconsideringthatbothtexts
wereplacedinthefolderwithotherBulletins;furthermore,thiscollection,
aswellasothers,containtheso-calledspecialissuespresentingtranscriptsof
conferences,briefingsandmeetings.Itseems,however,thatitistooearlyto
setlethestatusofthese“problematic”materials,whichcouldhavefoundtheir
wayintothiscollectionaccidentally.40
TediscussedperiodicalshadasupplemententitledBiblioteczkiBiulety-
nuInformacyjno-InstrukcyjnegoGUKPPiW,alsopublishedbythecensorship
ofce.Sofar,Ihavemanagedtofindsevenissuesofthesupplement,alldated
1955.41
Narrowingthematerialdownonlytotheissuesthatcouldunquestionably
beclassifiedasconfidentialBulletinsforcensors,Ihaveanalyzed59issuesof
theperiodicalandsevenBiblioteczki,thatis,about2,670typewritenpagesin
total.
Whileworkingonthebook,Ialsousedotherarchivalmaterials,mainlydoc-
umentscreatedintheMainOfceortheVoivodeshipOfcesfortheControlof
thePress,PublicationsandPublicPerformances.Whenitwasjustified,Iquoted
someofthem,confrontingtheinformationcontainedthereinwiththeposition
presentedintheBulletins,e.g.,inthecaseofcensorshipreviewsfeaturedinthe
magazine.
