Theyincludedesigningandimplementingassessmentcenters,mentoring
andtalentdevelopmentprograms,buildingvariablepaysystemsforsales
departments,recruitments,training,and,generallyspeakinganyprojects
relatedtothedevelopmentofanorganization.
Amongstmysuccesses,Iamparticularlyproudofmyconsultingbusi-
ness,whichIhavecreatedanddevelopedsinceleavingthecorporation.
AlthoughmyworkisverydifferentnowIstillhaveclientsfromallover
theworld.DuringtheworkshopsIlead,peoplefromallovertheworld
haveachancetomeetoneanother,forexample,NewZealand,Canada,
andBrazil,tonameafew.Ispecializeininterculturalcommunication,
aswellasleadershipdevelopment,mentoringandcoachingprograms.It
isthankstomyworkthatIhavethechancetomeetsomanyfantastic,
interestingpeople,andfurtherthankstothemthat,throughtheireyesand
experiences,Ihavetheprivilegetoobservetheworldfromsomanynew
perspectives.WorkingwithSeniorLeaders,BoardMembersandCEOs
hasallowedmetonotonlysharemyknowledgeandtosupportothers,but
alsotoconsistentlyimprovemyselfasbothatrainerandamanager.
Admittedly,corporatelifenolongerenticesme;Iconsciouslydidnot
wanttoreturn.
Sometimeago,oneofmyfriendssharedaninspiringmetaphorwith
me,comparingworkingforacorporationtobeingafreelancer.
Theformerisadogonachain:henevergoeshungry,andhehas
aroofoverhishead,butheisheldbackbythechainsofstrictrulesand
regulations.Thelatterisawolf:hemayfreelywandertheforestashe
pleases,butoftentimesgoeshungry.
Afteralongconsideration,IrealizedthatI’vehadenoughtoeat
enoughtofallbackuponforacoupleofyears,ifneedbeandso,Ien-
teredtheforest.
