21stCenturyorganizedbytheInstituteofMiddleandFarEastStudies

ofJagiellonianUniversityinKrakówinApril2010.Twodaysofsessions

gatheredmanyobservers;moreover,alivelyandcollaborativeworking

environmentwascreated.Researchenthusiasmandinquisitiveattitude

ofpresentersanddiscussantsobservedduringtheconferenceinspiredus

togobeyondtheuniversitywallsandputthispublicationtogether.

Theproblemsdiscussedwithinthisvolumeprovidethereaderswith

abackgroundofmostvitalissuesinmodernChina.Theyarerelated
