Instruments.Thebiggestwasestablishingtheuncertaintybudgetforcali-
brationofESDsimulatorsanddevelopmentofanewESDsimulator.Aspe-
cialsourceofsatisfactionwasEMCtroubleshootingbySchaffners?cus-
tomers.
EmployedbytheEMCTescenterZ¨
urichAGIcouldbeactiveinthelab-
oratorywithwidespreadaccreditationsfromEUDirective,military,avionic
toautomobile,withthemostmodernandconforminfrastructure.
Inparallel,IwasactiveintheSwissstandardisationgroupasthemem-
berofjoinedCommitteesIEC77andCISPR.Ilearnedtherehowstandards
ripeandthatsolutionsinthemareveryoftencompromiseoftechnicalrea-
sonsandindustrylobbing.
