SchoolswithinstructionintheHungarianlanguage,mothertonguesaretaught
onlyinthescopeofreadingandwriting.
Thisregulationalsoprovidedthatthecurriculumfortheminorities
shouldbeelaborated,whichwastobeachievedwiththehelpofthedecree
62.800/1925.VIII/a.However,thedecreereferringtotheeducationofthe
minorities,moreexactlythepossibilityofthechoicefromthethreetypesof
schools,wasshort-lived.In1935,thePrimeMinisterOrderof11.000/1935
abolishedthesaidoption,andintroducedauniformsystemwhichwasbased
ontheaforementionedTypeBschools.
Henceforth,inseveralsettlements,certainnumerousnationalminoritiesdid
notavailthemselvesofthechancetoapplyforaTypeAschools.Itwasnotso
onlyinBékésCounty,butthewait-and-seepolicywastypicalatthenational
level.Althoughthepopulationofnationalandethnicminoritieswassignificant,
therewerenoTypeAschools,thatis,schoolswithinstructioninthelanguage
oftheminorities.Inthemiddleofthe1930s,amongtheelementaryschools
inHungary,therewereonly50inwhichinstructionwasdeliveredalsointhe
Slovaklanguage.OnlythreeofthemwereofTypeBand47ofTypeC.Itis
importanttomentionthatnoneoftheTypeBschoolsexistedinBékésCounty.
