beeninearly1856duringthepreparationsfortheabove-mentionedantiquitiesexhibition.AleksanderPrzezdziecki
wasoneofitsmainorganizers(amongothertaskshewascollectingexhibits),whileGeneralWincentyKrasiński
wasthesecondlargestexhibitor.Ofcourse,itisnotknownhowtheurnwasdiscovered.Itcanonlybeassumed
thatithappenednoearlierthaninthesummerof1830becauseotherwisetheurnwouldhavemostlikelybeen
includedinthecollectionoftheWSFS,likethefindsfrom1818and1822,andin1832itwouldhavebeencon-
fiscatedbytheRussians.
Finally,in1996anironstrap-endfitting,foundbyaccidentintheareaofthechurchinOpinogóra,waspub-
lished(Fig.2).Thespecimencorrespondstotype4ofstrap-endfittingsofthePrzeworskcultureintheMadyda-

thecemeteryinOpinogórabelongedtoanumerousgroupofnecropolesofthePrzeworskcultureintheareaof
theright-bankofMazoviaandPodlasieinphasesB

oftheWielbarkculture.
TheinformationaboutthediscoveriesmadeinthecemeteryofOpinogórasuggeststhatthenecropolisoccupied
thewholeareaofasmallbutdistinctivehill(size:approximately150×75m)locatedonthebrinkofanupland,
betweentwounnamed,regulatedstreamsflowingtowardstheSonaPrawaRiver(Fig.3).
