theconstructionofsocietyandthesphereofcommonlysharedvalues.
Theseelementsareindispensableinordertoseebeyondthehorizonof
thepresentday
.Whenconcludinghisanalysesconcerningthetransfor-
mationofcontemporaryfamilies,AnthonyGiddenspostulatesthatthe
futureoffamiliesdependsonapersonalabilitytoprovidea“golden
means”balancebetweenindividualautonomyandinterpersonalobliga-
tionsarisingfromthefactofhavingafixedrelationship.48
Familycanberegardedasastablefoundationofsociallife.Hence,
itislittlewonderthatthediminutionoffamiliesisnotconduciveto
anyattemptstoconstructsocialorder.Concurrently
,thelackoffamily-
groundedsupportforpoliticaltransformationsthattakeplaceinthe
contemporaryPolandcreatesmentalbarriersthathindertheirsocietal
acceptance.Thesetransformations,consequently
,willbeperceivedinthe
lightofpossibleorrealunemployment,lossofsocialprivileges,deep-
eningstratification,ordimcultexpectationsthatenforceradicalchanges
inone’spersonality
.Itissumcientenoughtolistentocasualconversa-
tionsinordertodiscerngroupsofdissatisfiedpeoplewhoyearnforthe
realityofthePeople’sRepublicofPolandandtreatitasadepositoryof
lostchancesandunfulfilleddreamsorsuccesses.Hence,itisourduty
tohealPolishfamiliesandprotectthemagainsttheconditionsof“axi-
ologicalwarpedness”byimplementingwiseculturalandsocialpolicies.
Threatstofamiliesare,asamatteroffact,threatstohumanbeingsand,
consequently
,tothewholesocietyseenasamacrostructure.Axiologi-
calconsensuswillbeconditionedbytheextenttowhichfamily-based
moralsocializationaccentuatestheethosofpersonalismwhichiscommu-
nal,altruistic,aswellasindiferenttoegocentrism,selfishness,relativism
andfashionable,postmoderntendenciestowardsindividualizationand
subjectivism.
