Abstract
Tispaperemergedfroma2021keynoteaddressentitled‘EducationandMulticultural-
isminanOn-goingPeriodofTurbulence:howaSociologyofEducationapproachcan
andshouldmakeapositiveimpact’
,deliveredtotheinternationalscientificconference
‘Educationandthechallengesofthemulticulturalworld’whichtookplaceonlineatTe
MariaGrzegorzewskaUniversityinWarsawonthe21stand22ndJanuary,2021.Teau-
thorarguesthatthereisagreatcapacityforthesociologyofeducationtomakepositive
impactsintherelationshipbetweeneducationandsociety,particularlyintimesofcrisis
andchange.Inparticular,theauthorarguesthattherearemanypossibilitiesforafemi-
nistsociologicalperspectivetointerrogatetheinnerworkingsofsociety,educationand
multi-culturalismandthatinclusiveandparticipativeworkingmethodscanimplement
innovativeoutcomesincollaborativeprojects.Teauthorconsiderssomereasonswhy
thesociologyofeducationisakeyfieldtoconsider(thewhy?)andalsowhyitisespecial-
lyimportanttoconsideritnow(thewhynow?).Fourrecentcasestudiesofparticipative
andco-operativeprojectsinthefieldofsociologyofeducationareconsideredinorder
tounderstandtheelementsandpatternsatworkineducationandsocietytodayandto
highlightwaysthatopencollaborationandsharingofpracticecanhavepositiveimpacts.
