Introduction
The
generalreformofthePolisheducationsystem1introducedon1Septem-
ber1999reformrequiresmakingsignificantcurriculum,organizationaland
methodicalchangesinalleducationalinstitutions,withapositivecoursebe-
ingconditionedbyvariousfactors.
Teschoolheadmasteristhepersonidentifiedwiththesuccessoftheirstu-
dentsandthequalityofteachers’work.Intimesofuniformcurricula,schools
dińeredfromeachothermainlybythepersonalityofaheadmaster.Onthe
otherhand,onehastodealwiththesocalleddailyschoolroutine.Becausethe
schoolheadmasterisamanagerandanorganizerofschoollife,astrategist,
amoderator,anemployer,apersonundertakingthesupervision,thechair-
manoftheschoolboard,thepersonresponsibleforhealthandsafety,the
onerepresentingtheschooloutside,themanagertakingcareofthefinancial
situationofthefacility,aninspiringanimatorandaco-organizerofschool
initiatives,atutor,thechairmanofexaminationboards.Inbrief,thefunction
ofaheadmasterisnothingelsebuttheoverallresponsibilityforaschool.2
