Itisimportanttopayattentiontothecrucialcomponentoftheprocessof
educationthatistorelationalconnectionbetweenpeople.Whiletryingtode-
finethenubofupbringinginthepersonalisticapproach,onemayquoteJanusz
Tarnowski(whomodifiedK.Schaller’sdefinition)whostatesthatupbringingis
“theentiretyofmeansandprocessesthathelpsahumanbeingtodevelopand
implementhishumanitymainlythroughinteraction.”25Thisdefinitiongivesus
concreteimplicationsforthepedagogicalpractice.Personalismunderstandsthe
upbringingofahumanastheprocessofpersonaldevelopment.Andineduca-
tionalactivityprocessesandmeansthatappearthroughinteractionarehelpful
indevelopinghumanitythroughopeningoneselftowardgoodness,truthand
beauty.Duetothisapersonbeginstoparticipateinvaluesandtoimplement
them,coursingtowardthemandstartingfromthelowestone,throughspiritual
toabsolute.26Thepurposeofsuchactionsistoeducatesomeonetobehimself.
Throughparticipationinvaluesandimplementationofthem,ahumanstaysin
personalrelationtotheworld,society,freedomandgoods.Theupbringingin
thisperspectivebecomesmeetingoftwohumanbeings,ofaneducatorandapu-
pil.Thisparticularupbringingtovaluesiskindofaintroductionofachildto
theworldofvaluesandstimulationofachild’swilltorealizethem.Theeducator
revealsthevalues,witnessesthem,hisrelationtohispupilshouldbefullofhelp
andserviceincharacter.Sucheducationiscreative,dynamicandopen,itaimsat
betterandisorientedtoself-improvement.27However,weshouldrememberthat
forexampleinTeilhard’sconception,“meetingiscollectiveincharacter,andthe
mankindisitssubjectandobject,”28soaccordingtohimanindividualhuman
andhispersonaldevelopmentarenotplacedintheforeground.Ahuman“can-
notbeinterpretedoutsidetheframesofmankind,”29butthinkingaboutahuman
strictlyintheframesofthewholemankindorevenaboutahumanastheman-
kindstrengthenshisindividualdevelopment.
Hence,“theprocessofpersonalization”describedmorepreciselybytheper-
sonalisticpedagogyseemsquiteinterestingissue.Theprocessbasesontheas-
sumptionthatintheearthlyexistenceofahuman,onecannotreachthestateof
perfectionbutonecanaimforitandimproveoneselfgradually.Andthis“self-
-improvement”ofahumanin“theprocessofpersonalization”happensthrough
gainingpersonalfeaturesandvariousskills.Moreover,theessentialpurposeof
upbringingactionsistoenableapupiltogointhedirectionofpersonalization
