Themethodoftheextractionofspatialinformationfrom2-channelaudiosignalis

presentedinthepaper.Theproposedalgorithmwillbeusedtorecovertruespatial

acousticalfieldfor5.0surroundsystemfromarchival2-channelstereorecordings.Thereis

alotofsuchrecordings(digitalaswell)whichcanbemoreattractive,whenpostprocessed

to5.0-channelstandardandreproducedinhometheatersystems.Theideaoftheproposed

approachisbasedonspecialutilizationofamplitude-phasedependenciesininputaudio

signal.Theauthorhavecreatedanonlinearalgorithmofspatialinformationwhich

intelligentlysplits2-channelsoundto5outputchannelsinDTS(orDolbyDigital)5.0

format.TheproposedalgorithmisalsocompatiblewithanalogDolbySurroundcoding.

Theefficiencyofthemethodisprovenobjectivelyandsubjectively.

Authorhasalsopresentedsimplemethodofgraphicpresentationofreceivedresults.

Thankstocombinationofdiagramsitispossibletoestimatefastaqualityofspatialeffect.

Effectivelyofpresentedsoundspatializationmethodhasbeencomparedtoknownmatrix

DolbySurroundsystemandrecordingsmadeinmulti-channelDolbyDigital5.0system.

1.INTRODUCTION

PuttingdigitalinformationmediumDVD(digitalversatiledisk)touniversal

usagehasprovokedgrowinginterestofmulti–channelrecordingsystem.Systems

likeDolbyDigital(DD)andDigitalTheaterSystem(DTS)madeitpossibleto

createanatmosphereasinf.ex.concerthall.Realismofexperiences,generalized

usageofmulti-channelaudiosystems“HomeTheatre”(HT)indomestic

conditions.

Unfortunatelyolderstereophonicrecordsareavailableonlyintwo-channel

form.HTsystemsingeneralcontainDSPprocessors,whichonlyfakemulti-

channelspatialsoundandtheeffectsarenotsatisfactory.Itisonlyasimulation

butnotrecuperatingrealacousticambience.

Takingthesenotesintoaccount,wecancertainlysaythatlookingforeffective

methodsofstereophonicrecordsconversionto5.1(or5.0)formathaslarge

practicalmeaning.Itcanbeconfirmedbyalotofpublications[1,2]touchingthe
