WirelesstransmissionofsignalsusingtheGPRSnetwork(GeneralPacket
RadioService)inGSM(GlobalSystemforMobileCommunications)amongothers
makesitpossiblethedevelopmentoftelemedicineservices[3,4].
The
networktransmissionspeedof(30-80)kb/swhichiscurrentlyofferedinpractice,
enablestheuseoftheInternetandtransmissionofstreamingdata.Telemedicineisa
fieldinwhichinformationcanbetransmittedoveralongdistanceusingtechnologies
suchastheInternet,streamingmedia,andwirelesscommunications.Asaformof
interdisciplinary
servicesand
health
care,
combineselements
of
telecommunications,metrology,computerscienceandmedicine.Forexample,
telemedicinecandelivermedicalexpertisetoremotelocationsandmonitor
thepatient'sconditionatsomedistancefromhisplaceofbeing.Especially
performedsensingdevicesarebeingdevelopedtoenablerealizationoftestsand
measurementswithoutinterruptingthenormalactivities[6,7,9].Possibilityof
limitationofthemovementofpatientsandspecialistscanoftenprovidethevirtual
visitsandcontrols.
Wearablesensors,mobilephones,webcameras,andonlinenetworksareallpart
ofthefuturehealthsupportsystem[12].Wearablesensorsenablecontinuous
monitoringofbiologicalsignalsbecausetheymaybeintegratedintoclothingparts.
Sensorsplacedonthescalpandmusclescouldhelpdriversrespondmorequicklyto
emergencies,butthetechnologyisunwieldyatpresent.Wearablesensordevices
maycollectdatabutmustnotinterferewiththemotionsrequiredforthepeople
normalactivity.Clothingwithembeddedsensorswillenablemedicalpersonnelto
monitorawiderangeofphysiologicconditionsforpatientswhoareonknownrisks.
Thispaperpresentsaconceptofthewaistcoatequippedwithmeasuringmodules
whichpurposeistoprocesstheselectedbiophysicalsignalssensedfromagiven
