socialnorms,orwhethertheyallowustodiscoverthatwhichisvalu-
ableinandforitself;aboutthebehaviourthatisrighthereandnow,
butalsoabouttimelessnorms(values).Towhatextentcanethics,par-
ticularlyinpubliclife,stilldeterminewhatisobjectivelyjust,orhow
muchdoesitapproachaestheticsandpresentonlysubjectiveconvic-
tions?Isthere,perhaps,somethingwhichexistentiallylinksethicsand
aesthetics?Wearelookingforanswerstothesequestions,atthesame
timewonderingtowhatextenttheyrequireareferencetotraditional
solutionsanddeterminationsinthefieldofethics,andhowurgentitis
tolookfornewproceduresofinvestigation.Inotherwords,thetasks
ofethicsarechanging,aswellasitsrelationshiptootherfieldsofphi-
losophyandsciences,whichforcesresearcherstoengageinintellec-
tualexperiments.Theirinterpretationcallsforadialogue,forpolem-
icsanddiscoursestowhichallReadersareinvited.
