InashadowofX-rayandNMRtomography,whichwecertainlycouldnamed
asaClassicalImagingTechniqueprovidinganimageswithanatomicalprecision,
recentlydifferenttomographyaredeveloped.Thosetomographyusedifferentin-
formationlikeelectriccurrent,temperature,visibleandinfra-redlight,ultrasound
andmanyothers.
Thosetechniquesposesacommonfeaturelowspatialresolutionoftheim-
age,usuallynonlinearalgorithmforimageconstructionandwhatismostimpor-
tantlowcostandarelessharmfulforpatientslikeforexampleUltrasonicTomog-
raphy.
Thereisnoonenamedescribingallthosetomographytechniques.Onecande-
scribethemasNonconventionalTomography,contrarytofullydevelopedcon-
ventionalX-rayorNMRTomography.
Itwaspossibletorealizethisprojectthankstomanyauthors,whotrustedus
anddespitemanyothersdutiestakepartinthisproject.Howevermanyauthors
duetodifferentreasonswasnotabletocontribute.Thosewhorespondedprovide
somanymaterialthatwehavetodivideitontwoparts:thefirstbookentitled"In-
dustrialandBiologicalTomography"andthesecondone"ElectricalCapacitance
Tomography".
Wasnotourambitionstoprovidetheregularlecturesonsubject"Noncon-
ventionalTomography",ratherillustraterecentadvancesmadeindifferentPolish
universitieswithinthisparticularsubject.Allchaptersconsistsofautonomicma-
terialdescribingcertainproblem.
Aseditorswehopethatthosetwobookswillbeinterestingnotonlyforthe
polishreaders.
