Introduction
Teconceptsofinnovation,industry,andcoppe-asintendedbytheeditors
ofthemonographtranslatedtoreaders-determinethetheoreticalfieldof
thediscussedconsiderations.Teyappearinvariousresearchperspectives,
inbroadlyunderstoodengineeringandtechnicalsciences,aswellasinso-
cialsciences.Terefore,theyconstituteanopenareaofinterpretationthat
cannotbereducedtoasingleinterpretationorclosedwithinonespecific
theoreticalfield.Innovationandissuesrelatedtoitsindividualaspectsare
currentlyperceivedasoneofthefundamentalissuesdeterminingsocio-
-economicdevelopment.Globalization,technologicalandsocialchanges,
thepermanentmetamorphosisofthesphereofproduction,trade,services,
consumption,andtheconstantlygrowingmarketawarenessofbuyershave
becomethesourcesoftheintensificationoftheobservedcompetitivephe-
nomena.Meetingthesenewconditionsforcesorganizationstosearchfor
new,moreeńective,andflexiblewaysofcompetingandtoconstantlyiden-
tifyallpossibilitiesofmodelingandrationalizingthemarketposition.From
theperspectiveoftheCopperBasin,andinparticularoftheStateTreasury
companyKGHMPolskaMiedźSA,theimportanceofinnovationshouldbe
perceivedinabroadercontext,notonlyrelatingtothefunctioningofthe
companyitself,butalsototheenhancementofthedevelopmentofPolish
economicpolicy.Terefore,regardlessofthedefinition,competitivenessis
oneofthemostimportantdeterminantsofmodernenterprises,andinno-
vativesolutionscan-andshould-besoughtintheproduct,process,mar-
ketingandimage,andorganizationalspheres.
