conductedwithintheinternationalscientificprojectThepoliticalelites
twostagesin2013-2014,wasacontinuationmanyyearslongresearchonthe
crucialissuesconcerningthetransformationofthepoliticalelitesandtheir
leadersintheCaucasus.
Thisvolumeistheeighthpositionintheeditorialseries„Power-Elites-Lead-
ership“,and,inthesametime,athirdpositiononthecontemporarypolitical
elitesoftheCaucasus.Itdiffersfromthepreviousvolumes(Caucasus:Trans-
formationsofLeadershipandPoliticalElites,Warsaw2012,350p.;Cauca-
sus:MechanismsofLegitimizationandFunctioningofPoliticalElites,Warsaw
2012,479p.),becauseitssubjectconcernsonlythepoliticalelitesofthenational
republicsandthesouthernareas-entitiesoftheRussianFederation.Thestudies
focusontherelationshipbetweenelitesandpoliticalregimes,ethnopoliticsand
security.Theirauthorsdidnotlimittheiranalysistothepracticeoftransforma-
tion,butalsodiagnosedtheoreticalandmethodologicalbackgroundusedinthe
studyofelitesofthisspecificregion,whichisfullofconrasts.
Theparticipantsoftheresearchprojecthavemadeanunanimousdeci-
siontodedicatethefollowingcollectivemonographytoprofessorAndrzej
Chodubski,spiritusmovensofPolishcaucasology.Hisscientific,research,
teachingandpopularizingachievementsinspiresubsequentgenerationsofthe
researchersofRussiaandPost-Sovietspace.
Workonthefollowingprojecttookplaceinparallelwiththeorganization
oftheFirstRussianCongressofElitology(October7th-8th,2013).Among
