yearsagoitalsointroducedtheeuro)andNATO.Kyrgyzstanisamemberofthe
CommonwealthofIndependentStatesandtwoMoscow-dominatedintegration

zakhstan,Kyrgyzstan,Tajikistan,TurkmenistanandUzbekistan).Evenifweex-
cludethethreeBalticstates(Estonia,LithuaniaandLatvia),whichwereincorpo-
ratedintotheSovietUnionatalaterstageandprobablyabsorbedtheleastamount
ofSovietness,thespacestillmakesupquiteanimpressiveterritory.
