Abstract:Thecurrentdebateonfamilyissubjecttorapidsocialchangeswhichhavehadco-
lossalnegativeimpactoneconomyitselfandontheeconomyofentirecountries.Thepurpose
ofsocialandfamilylifeisnottobound,buttodevelopthehumanbeing.Thoughtsaboutthe
futureofthefamilyareassociatedwitheducationintheverysensethatispointedoutbyhuman
experience.ItcanbesaidthatAristotle’slegacyisasfollows:forsubject,itisnecessarytoreflect
profuturobasicdemandofhowtobe“togetherwithothers,”toact“withothers”and,onwhich
dependsrealizationandcompletionofthesubject’sbeing.

Introduction
Thedynamicnatureofsociallifecausingmomentarytensionsbetweenanin-
dividualandthecommunityrequiresadequatephilosophicalreflectionwhich
wouldbearinmindthatamanprojectshisorherfutureadequatelyonthe
basisofconstantretrievingofthepast.Theisolationofhistoryobstructsthe
useofexperienceofpreviousgenerationsandproducesdangeroustotalitarian
ideologies.ThispaperfocusesonthephilosophicalandsociallegacyofPlato
andAristotlewhichcannotremainunnoticedinthecurrentdiscussionaboutthe
roleandmeaningofthefamily.Ithighlightsthefactthatdecisionsofanindi-
vidualaremadewithregardstothefamilyastheoldestsocialgroupwhichis
