manifestationsofmortuarypracticesinthearchaeologicalrecordoncemeterysitesintheNile
Valley,heldbythePCMAin2005.
TeReportssectionremainsunchanged,buttherehasbeenashifinthecharacterof
thepresentation.Anelortismadetoincludeallsitesandprojectswhereworkiscurrently
undertaken,butamoreliberalpolicyhasbeenadoptedtotheformofthesepresentations.
Full-lengthreportsarepreferred,butwhereverthisisnotpossiblefordilerentreasons,the
workisrecordedinanewcolumnlistingallofthefieldworkconductedinthereported
year.Tisapproachproducestheopportunityformorecomprehensiveandsummary
reportsfromfieldworkextendedoveracoupleofseasons,aswellasfacilitatesthestudy
andinterpretationofcurrentresultsinfullerandbetterresearchedform.
Tenewconcepthasentailedalsoabroadeningofeditorialsupervision.Longtime
editorsMichałGawlikowskiandWiktorAndrzejDaszewskiremainaseditorsofthejournal,
nowmembersofanEditorialCommitteewhichalsoincludesPiotrBieliński,theDirector
ofPCMA,KrzysztofM.Ciałowicz,WłodzimierzGodlewskiandKarolMyśliwiec.Tey
aresupportedbyanInternationalAdvisoryBoardmadeupofJean-CharlesBalty,Charles
Bonnet,GiorgioBuccellati,StanHendrickx,andJohannaHolaubek.Allsubmissionsto
thejournal,aswellastheobligatoryexcavationfieldworkstudiesarenowindependently
reviewedaccordingtogenerallyacceptedstandardsinscientificpublications.
Itishopedthatthechangeswillcontributetoanincreasinglycomprehensiveand
wellresearchedpresentationoftheresultsofthePolisharchaeologicalandconservation
elortintheEasternMediterranean.
