Excavationswereconcentratedmainlyintheeastern
partofthesite,intwoseparateareas:sectorL(cisterns)and
sectorW

N(habitationquarter)(Fig.1).
CISTERNS
Excavationswerecontinuedalongtheeasternfacadeof
thebuilding,asrequiredbythecurrentrestorationprogram.
Alargepartofthecisternwallcomprisedbetweenbuttresses1
and2wasunearthed.Thestratigraphicsequencerecognized
hereislargelyparalleltotheonepreviouslyestablishedintest
pitslocatedclosetothebuttresses.AverythickLateRoman
stratumcomposedalmostentirelyofdiscardedamphorae
sherdswasfoundtobeinterlacedwithlayersofdebris,ashesand
bathrefuse(fragmentsofbricks,tubulatio,etc.).Atthelevel
of9.50-9.60m,aportionofastonepavementwascleared,
