byfillinginlossesoflimemortarandintroducingalime-

ordertoprotectthestructureagainstthepenetrationofrain-
fall.Similarmethodsandmaterialswereemployedsimultane-
ouslytoprotectotherfragmentsofwallsinthevilla.
LANDSCAPING
WithrespecttotheZonaMonumentalelandscapingproj-
ect,itshouldbenotedthat2,000m3ofexcavatedsoilwere
removedfromtheareaofthebath'sfrigidarium,aswellas
moderndepositsfromthesurfacelayersintheareabetween
thetheaterandthebathcomplex.:esides,atotalof25mof
pavementandstepswaslaidalongthesouthernperimeterof
thesite,usingbasaltslabsandbasaltandgranitecobblestones
recoveredfromthedebrisaccumulatedinthemodernlayers(fig.3).
