oftheseactivitieswasthe“degermanisation”ofthe
landsnewlyacquiredbythePolishstatel
Thisprocesshasalreadyearnedaquiteplentiful
coverageinPolishliteratureandresearchl1Itwas
ahugejointoperationdirectedmostofallagainst
theGermanlanguageasamainmediumofculturel
However,therewerealsorepercussionsinthecul-
turalpolicies,bentontotaleradication(alsointhe
visualsphere)ofanyGermanelementsandsup-
plantingthemwithPolishsubstituteslInthisarticle
