Inindustrializedcountries,especiallyinJapan,GermanyandFrance,alow
inflationratewasalsoaccompaniedbyaloweconomicgrowthrate.Japanishere
aspecialcasewherethedeflationpressurestrengtheningsincethe1990scoincid-
edwithstagnationofeconomicgrowthwhich,inconsequence,ledtoasignificant
decreaseofthiscountry’sshareinglobalGDP
.
Ontheotherhand,theUnitedStateswhichnotedinflationratesbetween
2-2.5%,notedalsoclearlyhigherindicesofeconomicgrowththanthethreere-
mainingindustrialcountries.Inallfourcountriesinvestmentratesoscillatednear
20-22percentofGDP
.Inthe1990sonlyinJapantheydeviatedmoreupward
fromthesevalues.
Intheanalyzedgroupthehighestgrowthindiceswerenotedbythecountries
withmoderateinflation(3-10percent).TecasesofChinaandIndia,thetwo
