Chineseconceptofsoftpowerischaracterisedbytwocomponents:stratagems,mostlyused
inthemilitarycontextandassociatedwithSunZiandhisworkArtofWar…(2007)andmoral
leadership,whichrootsareinConfucianismandthemoralnormsitpromotes.
Inthelastfewyears,sinceJ.NyeJrformulatedandrefnedtheconceptofsoftpower
inhisfollowingworks,suchanideahasevolvedandexpressedmoreindetail.Thisresult
hasbeenpossiblethankstothecontributions,analyses,andcriticsofseveralscholars,
whostartingfromtheworksofNyeJr,furtherelaboratedontheconceptofsoftpower.
Thisarticledelvesintotwoessentialfacetsofsoftpower.Thefrstaspectisthestudyon
therelevanceoftheconceptofsoftpowerinthecurrentpoliticaldynamics.Thesecond
facetisthedefnitionoftheideaofsoftpowerwithafocusontheevolutionofsuchan
