Abstract:Theproblemconsideredinthispaperconsistsofplanningandroutingrail-truckintermodal
shipmentsfromasetofsupplierstoasetofclients.Thedeliveredquantitieshavetofollowatruck-
rail-truckintermodalpath.Therearethreeconstraintstosatisfy:thesatisfactionofthedemandis
mandatory,eachrequestshouldbedeliveredbyitsduedate,andthecapacityofatraincannotbe
exceeded.Theobjectivefunctiontominimizeisaweightedsummationofthecostandtherisk.
Theformercomponentconcernsthefixedandvariabletransportationcostsassociatedwithtrucksand
trains,whilethelatterassociatedwithdangerousgoodsisnon-linearfortrains.Weproposeagraph
modeltorepresentthisproblemandatabusearchmetaheuristictotackleit.Numericalexperiments
onrealisticdataareprovidedanddiscussed.
