DuringmyworkontheCatalogueIgotintouchwithI.Kobalwhoinhis
letterdescribedthedetailsaboutthediscoveryofthisassemblagenotpublished
earlier.69Thehoardwasdiscoveredin1929byvillagersatthevillageKorolevo
(neartothehamletDubovynka).Noinformationaboutarchaeologicalcontext–if
therewasoneatall–survivestoday.Someofthecoinssoonchangedhandsand
passedfromview,theremainder–26coins–enteredtheT.Lehockymuseum
inMukacheveandafterWorldWarIIweresoldtotheT.LehockyZakarpattya
LocalHistoryMuseum.
Unfortunately,withnomeanstodirectlystudythecoinsfromthishoard,
nophotographstodocumentthem,andtheirrathersuperficialdeterminations,
workingoutacloserchronologicalprofileoftheRepublicanfragmentofthe
assemblageisunfeasible.Possiblytheearliestcoininthehoardisadenariusof
Cn.GnaeusCalpurnius(189-180BC;RRC153/1)–GensCalpurnia,possiblythe
latest–oneofthedenariiofC.VibiusVarus(42BC;RRC494/32-33,494/38).In
general,evenwiththesetentativeframesthedatingoftheRepublicansegmentof
theKorolevohoardappearsquitereasonableandlogicalforEasternEurope.We
havenoinformationaboutthetypesanddatesoftheothercoinsinthehoard.
Withinformationaboutthisassemblageaslimitedasitis,thereferencevalue
ofthisdepositinfurtherstatisticalanalysesisratherlow.
PochapyI(no.60).ThishoardofRepublicandenariisurfacedin2009
onthesouth-westernoutskirtsofthevillagePochapyinZolochivraion,L’viv
oblast,duringfarmworkcarriedoutontheedgeofagentleslopeofasmallhill
borderingonawetvalleybetweenthevillagesofPochapyandKnyazhe.The
depositwaspublishedthatsameyearbyS.PyvovarovandYa.Onyshchuk.

Accordingtotheirreport,notracesofacontainerhadsurvived,suggestingthat
originallythecoinswereinsidealeatherpouch.

S.PyvovarovandYa.Onyshchukreportedthatthegroupfindconsistedof35
denarii:27officialandeightimitations72(Fig.13-15).However,thedescriptions
ofthecoinsgivenintheirarticlewereonlygeneral,andtherewasnocatalogue.
Thedeterminationsofthecoinsnowpublishedhereweremadefromphotographs
publishedinthesamearticle.Unfortunately,fortwocoinstherewerenot
photographicimages,

butevenwiththedeterminationsthatcouldbemadewemay
safelyconcludethatthegroupincluded20officialRomanissuesand13imitations.
