previous.Earliervolumesconcernedvariousaspectsofhistoryand,particularly,
thehistoryofmoneyinthewholeterritoryoftheRomanEmpireandneigh-
bouringareas.ThefifthvolumerelatesonlytoAsiaMinoranditsissuesand
includesarticleswrittenbyboththeemployeesoftheAncientHistoryDepart-
mentoftheUniversityofSilesiaandinvitedGuests.Therefore,therangeof
presentedproblemsisverywide.Chronologically-wise,itconcernstheissuesof
AsiaMinorinthehistoryofthelateRomanRepublicandatthetimeofRoman
Empireuntilearlybyzantium.Thesubjectofthisvolumereferstothepolitical
