usual-fromPortugal.
ThetextsofthePortugueseprofessors,JoséJoãoAbrantesandPauloFerreirada
Cunha,arededicatedtoissuesbalancinglabourlawandconstitutionallawandhisto-
ry.JoséJoãoAbrantesfromUniversidadeNovadeLisboahaswrittenanarticlerefer-
ringtothecontemporaryandsensitiveproblemoftheeconomiccrisisinEuropethat
hasresultedingreatchangesinPortugueselegislativepolicy,providingflexibilityin
labourlaw.PauloFerreiradaCunhafromPortoUniversityanalysesthePortuguese
roadtodemocracy.
Wealsopresentaninterestingtextdedicatedtoconsumercreditcontractsafterthe
re-codificationofprivatelawintheCzechlegalorder.Itsauthor,JakubDohnal,repre-
sentingtheFacultyofLawofPalackýUniversityinOlomouc,exploresthisissue,which
seemstobeveryusefulforanyoneinvolvedinthepracticalimplementationoftheidea
ofthefreemovementofgoods,capitalandpersonsacrossborders.
Finally,IwouldliketorecommendacomprehensivestudyonFrontex’sresponsi-
bilityforhumanrightsviolations.ThisprofoundessayhasbeendrawnupbyIzabella
MajcherfromtheGraduateInstituteofInternationalandDevelopmentStudies,Gene-
vaGlobalDetentionProject.
Thisissuealsocontainsreportsonselectedconferencesandseminarsthatwereor-
ganisedatourFaculty.TakingintoaccountthemainideaofourJournal-thelegaldis-
courseoverborders-thereportontheProgrammeinEuropeanPrivateLawforPost-
graduates(PEPP)shoulddrawthereader’sattention.In2014/2015,PEPPiscelebrating
itsfifthedition.TheProgrammeisascholarshipprogrammefordoctoratestudentsand
consistsoffourintenseweeksoflecturesandworkshops,spreadoutoveroneyearand
heldinvariousuniversitiesandinstitutes.ItsfourtheditionembracedtheUniversity
ofMünster(thecoordinator),theBuceriusLawSchoolinHamburg,theMaxPlanck
InstituteforComparativeandInternationalPrivateLaw(MPI)inHamburg,theUni-
versityofSilesiainKatowice,theUniversityofWroclaw,theUniversityofCambridge,
theUniversityofLeuven,theUniversityofValencia,andtheUniversityofGenoa.
Asinpreviousissues,inthisissueofSJLSwecontinuetopresentalistofselected
monographspublishedin2014bytheresearchersfromourFacultyofLawandAd-
ministration,aswellasalistofconferencesorganisedorco-organisedbytheFacul-
tyandourfoundationFacultasIuridica.Itshouldbestressedthatourlegaldiscourse
overbordersispossible,asinpreviousyears,thankstoFacultasIuridica,whichcovers
mostofthepublishingcostsofthejournal.
