tostudyτappearance.TheexceptionistheMINOS+experimentwithmeanbeamenergyabout
intheseoff-axisexperimentshavemaximumclosetotheoscillationmaximumandmostofthefluxin
OPERA(OscillationProjectwithEmulsion-tRackingApparatus),theonlyexperimentthat
presentedevidenceofappearanceofVτwithasignificancelargerthan5σ,usedthebeamofmean
energyabout17GeV.ThisexperimentwasexposedtotheCNGSneutrinobeamfromCERNto
theGranSassoLaboratoryintheyears2008–2012.ThemaingoaloftheOPERAexperimentwas
toshowtheevidenceofappearanceoftauneutrinosproducedduetotheoscillationsofaccelerator
muonneutrinos,onthelong,730kmwayfromthesourcetothedetector.Thankstotheunique
spacialresolutionofnuclearemulsionitwaspossibletoselecttauleptonanditsdecayproducts.
