Abstract
Themonographysummarizesthecurrentknowledgeaboutstandardandnon-standardneutrinooscil-
lationsinvolvingtauneutrinos,withspecialemphasisplacedontheresultsfromtheMINOS(Main
InjectorNeutrinoOscillationSearch)andMINOS+experiments.Sincetheexperimentaldiscovery
ofneutrinooscillations,awardedtheNobelPrizeinPhysicsintheyear2015,thisphenomenonhas
beenstudiedbymanyexperiments.However,appearanceoftauneutrinosoriginatingfromoscilla-
tionsisoneoftheleastknownareasofneutrinofield.Theirdetectionisexperimentallychallenging
duetotheshortlifetimeofτleptonproducedintheinteractionsofVτ.Theexperimentalmeth-
odsdevelopedforsearchingforinteractionsoftauneutrinosandexperimentalresultsconcerning
appearanceoftauneutrinosarecomprehensivelyreviewed.Inadditiontotheprocessesknownfrom
thestandardoscillationmodel,thesearchesofmixingofVτwithsterilestatesthatcanleadtothe
anomalousproductionoftauneutrinosarealsopresented.Particularlyimportantpartisdevotedto
thedescriptionofdevelopedanalysismethodsandresultsobtainedintheMINOS+experiment.The
monographyendswiththediscussionoffutureperspectivesforthestudyofstandardandanomalous
appearanceoftauneutrinos.
