intheGulf.Thisvision,whichyouputintolife,hasmadetheCentreoneofthe

leadingresearchinstitutionsintheregion.Theprivilegeofhostingtheprestigious

ICAANEconferencein2012,inwhichyouwereinstrumental,wasaninternational

sealofapprovalrecognizingthepositionofourinstitution.

YourfarsightednessatthehelmoftheCentrewasalsoexpressedbytheway

younurturedthescientificgrowthofyoungresearchersgatheredaroundthe

Centreandparticipatinginitsactivities.Imyselfaminthisgroup.Iremember

thedaythatI,afreshdoctor,approachedyouforfundstolaunchmyfirstproject

inGhazali.Withtimemyprojectbecamefinanciallyindependent,butitwould

havenotbeenlaunchedwithoutyourconfidenceinmeandsupport,andmy

scientificcareermayhavetakenanentirelydifferentpath.

TodaywecelebrateyourJubilee.Passingtimeisinthiscaseofnoimportance,as

yourcontinuedactivityasheadoftheScientificCounciloftheCentredemonstrates.
