Themainobjectiveoftheresearchprojectthatsupportsthispaperhasbeento
detectanddiagnosetheconditionsinwhichthecurrentprocessofrenewaland
socioeconomicinnovationistakingplaceintheSpanishmountainareas.Wealso
attempttoprepareproposalsforvalorizationofmountainlandscapesandto
identifytheareasofgreatesttransformationandtheareaswithsensitivepotential
impact.
Toachievetheaimsspecifiedabove,whichconstitutethecoreoftheanalysis
inthisstudy,wehavetakendifferentmountainareasascasestudies(Figure1)
selectedbyvoluntarybasiccriteriaregardingthedegreeofchange,theeconomic
growthandthelevelofdevelopmentreached.Allmountaincountiesstudiedare
singularterritorieswithanextraordinaryrichnessofresources,butalsowith
aremarkableweakness,andsomeofthefeaturesaresharedbymostofthese
spacesputinevidence.
