articleexplorestheriseofJobbikfromdeepnationalist,anti-Semiticand
anti-RomacurrentsinHungariansymbolicpoliticsdatingbacktothelast
yearsofthe1980sandtheearlydaysofthe1990s.Initscurrentform,Jobbik
ismorethanapoliticalparty;throughitsdirectactionaffiliates,itsmembers
engageinphysicalpoliticsbeyondtheballotboxthroughactsofintimidation
andviolence.Withitsclaimsthatitopposesliberalism,globalcapitalism,
andZionism,JobbikisthefaceofanewilliberalpoliticsinEuropethatseeks
todismantletheprojectoftheEuropeanUnion.
