Theaimofthismonographistopresenttheresearchmethods,systemcon-
structionandalgorithmsusedinsolvingproblemsrelatedtoelectricalimpedance
tomography,electricalcapacitancetomography,ultrasoundtomographyandradio
tomography.Thebookpresentsthecomplexsystemsforenvironmental,industri-
alandmedicaltomography.Theworkshowsthereconstructionofimagesusing
varioustomographictechniquesandreconstructionalgorithms.Dependingonspe-
cifictechnologicaltomography,boththeadvantagesanddisadvantagesmaybeob-
servedintermsoftheaccuracy,frequencyandresolutionofthereproducedimages.
Aknowledgeofthecharacteristicsofeachtomographictechniqueallowsyouto
choosetheappropriatemethodofimagereconstruction.Theproposedsolutions
consistofacentralprocessingunit,asetofsensors(devices)andsoftwarethatuses
cloudcomputingandaBigDataclustertoprocess,visualizeandanalysedata.The
presentedprojectsarebasedontheconstructionofacyber-physicaldistributed
systemforacquiring,processingandreconstructingtheimageofmeasurementdata.
Industrialtomographyfacilitatestheobservationofphysicalandchemicalphe-
nomenawithouttheneedforinternalpenetration.Processtomographypresentsthe
possibilitytoanalyseprocessestakingplaceinsidethefacilitywithoutdisturbing
production,andtheanalysisanddetectionofobstacles,defectsandvariousanoma-
lies.Thepresentedmeasuringsystemhasaspeciallydesignedmeasuringstructure
(includingelectrodes,thankstowhichitisaninnovativesolutioninthefield,par-
ticularlyeffectiveinanalysis).Thereisacleartendencyinindustrytoimplement
moreoptimallyrelatedfunctionswithanemphasisonactiveinspectionandmon-
itoring.Controlmethodsincludeissuesrelatedtotheprocessingofdataobtained
fromvarioussensorslocatedinnodes.Monitoringtakesplacewithinthescopeof
acquiredandprocesseddataandparameterautomation.Themainpurposeofthis
workistodesignasystemfordataacquisitionandanalysisbyimagereconstruction
forvarioustomographicmethods(resistance,capacitance,ultrasound,radio).The
smarttomographicmeasurementsystemsincludedmeasuringdevices,distributed
systems,algorithmsandapplicationsforimagereconstruction.Severaltypesof
reconstructionalgorithmsandmodelsareexploredinthisbook.Withaknowledge
ofthecharacteristicsofeachtomographictechniquesolution,theapplicationallows
tochoosetheappropriatemethodofimagereconstruction.Inverseproblemisthe
processofidentifyingoptimizationorsynthesis,whereintheobjectiveistodeter-
minetheparametersdescribingthedatafield.Thisbookpresentsanon-destructive
methodtoexaminetheconditionofobjectssuchasbrickwalls,floodembankments,
landfills,airbricks,pipelines,reactors,humanbodyandsimilarobjects.
