GreekandHellenisticlampswillbediscussedinthissection.Teterm(Hellenisticlamps’meansthose
typesoflampswhoseproductionstartedinHellenisticperiod,thatis323-30BC,andterm(Greek
lamps’meansperiodbefore323BC.DuringtheHellenisticperiodanewtechniqueoflampproduction
wasintroduced,thatisbyusingmatrices(Broneer1930:7).TelampsfromNegotinoGradištealsoinclude
earlywheelmadelamps.Lampsthatcanbecalled(Greek’arepresentinthissetofartefactsandtheywillbe
discussedbelow.Terestofthelampsaremouldmade.Sixgroupsaredistinguishedamongthem,namely
MacedonianTypelamps,EphesianTypelamps,oneartefactthat,forthesakeofthisstudy,hasbeencalled
(Sub-EphesianType’withsideknobs,agroupof(lateHellenisticlamps’,agroupof(monogrammedlamps’,
andamulti-nozzledlamp.Tereisaseparategroupofmoulds.Fragmentsoflampswhichhaveproved
impossibletoclassifyaredescribedattheendofthesection.
