fateordestiny.Literallyitmeansuaction”anditdescribespsychologicalas-
pectofcasualrelations.Terearethreewaysofexplainingcausalsituation
intheworld:(1)thereisaGod’smasterplan,(2)coincidencerulesevery-
thingor(3)thereisaninterdependentorigination.Buddhistsoptforthe
thirdpossibility,interdependentoriginationofallphenomena.Whosows

anymoraljudgmentofthesituation.Whatisobviousonthelevelofmaterial
objectsismoredifficulttoobserveonthementalsphere,butourthoughts,

ness.Actionsarenotexternaltoanunchangeableusoul,”buttheyarechar-
