him.8.2Behold,alepercametohimandworshipedhim,saying,“Lord,
ifyouwantto,youcanmakemeclean.”
8.3Jesusstretchedouthishand,andtouchedhim,saying,“Iwantto.
Bemadeclean.”Immediatelyhisleprosywascleansed.8.4Jesussaid
tohim,“Seethatyoutellnobody,butgo,showyourselftothepriest,
andofferthegiftthatMosescommanded,asatestimonytothem.”
8.5WhenhecameintoCapernaum,acenturioncametohim,asking
him,8.6andsaying,“Lord,myservantliesinthehouseparalyzed,
grievouslytormented.”
8.7Jesussaidtohim,“Iwillcomeandhealhim.”
8.8Thecenturionanswered,“Lord,I’mnotworthyforyoutocome
undermyroof.Justsaytheword,andmyservantwillbehealed.8.9For
Iamalsoamanunderauthority,havingundermyselfsoldiers.Itell
thisone,‘Go,’andhegoes;andtellanother,‘Come,’andhecomes;
andtellmyservant,‘Dothis,’andhedoesit.”
8.10WhenJesusheardit,hemarveled,andsaidtothosewhofollowed,
“MostcertainlyItellyou,Ihaven’tfoundsogreatafaith,noteven
inIsrael.8.11Itellyouthatmanywillcomefromtheeastandthewest,
andwillsitdownwithAbraham,Isaac,andJacobintheKingdom
ofHeaven,8.12butthechildrenoftheKingdomwillbethrownoutinto
theouterdarkness.Therewillbeweepingandgnashingofteeth.”8.13
Jesussaidtothecenturion,“Goyourway.Letitbedoneforyou
asyouhavebelieved.”Hisservantwashealedinthathour.
8.14WhenJesuscameintoPeter’shouse,hesawhiswife’smotherlying
sickwithafever.8.15Hetouchedherhand,andthefeverlefther.She
