18.29“Sohisfellowservantfelldownathisfeetandbeggedhim,
saying,‘Havepatiencewithme,andIwillrepayyou!’18.30Hewould
not,butwentandcasthimintoprison,untilheshouldpaybackthat
whichwasdue.18.31Sowhenhisfellowservantssawwhatwasdone,
theywereexceedinglysorry,andcameandtoldtotheirlordallthat
wasdone.18.32Thenhislordcalledhimin,andsaidtohim,‘You
wickedservant!Iforgaveyouallthatdebt,becauseyoubeggedme.
18.33Shouldn’tyoualsohavehadmercyonyourfellowservant,even
asIhadmercyonyou?’18.34Hislordwasangry,anddeliveredhim
tothetormentors,untilheshouldpayallthatwasduetohim.18.35
SomyheavenlyFatherwillalsodotoyou,ifyoudon’teachforgive
yourbrotherfromyourheartsforhismisdeeds.”

19.1WhenJesushadfinishedthesewords,hedepartedfromGalilee,and
cameintothebordersofJudeabeyondtheJordan.19.2Greatmultitudes
followedhim,andhehealedthemthere.19.3Phariseescametohim,
testinghim,andsaying,“Isitlawfulforamantodivorcehiswifefor
anyreason?”
19.4Heanswered,“Haven’tyoureadthathewhomadethemfromthe
beginningmadethemmaleandfemale,19.5andsaid,‘Forthiscause
amanshallleavehisfatherandmother,andshalljointohiswife;and
thetwoshallbecomeoneflesh?’19.6Sothattheyarenomoretwo,but
oneflesh.WhatthereforeGodhasjoinedtogether,don’tletmantear
apart.”
19.7Theyaskedhim,“WhythendidMosescommandustogiveher
abillofdivorce,anddivorceher?”
19.8Hesaidtothem,“Moses,becauseofthehardnessofyourhearts,
allowedyoutodivorceyourwives,butfromthebeginningithasnot
beenso.19.9Itellyouthatwhoeverdivorceshiswife,exceptforsexual
immorality,andmarriesanother,commitsadultery;andhewho
marriesherwhensheisdivorcedcommitsadultery.”
19.10Hisdisciplessaidtohim,“Ifthisisthecaseofthemanwithhis
wife,itisnotexpedienttomarry.”
19.11Buthesaidtothem,“Notallmencanreceivethissaying,butthose
