peciallyappreciated.ThePolisheducationalsystemaswellasalleducation-
alinstitutionswereperceivedasopenandmodern.Unfortunatelyitwas
observedthatalthoughPolandfollowsmostcontemporarytendenciesined-
ucation,negativephenomena,pathologyanddeviation,botholdandnew-
lydeveloping,arealsopresent.
Thesubsequentpartoftheprojectfocusedoneducationalproblemsin
Germany.ThusthelastmeetingwasorganisedinBrandenburg.Problems
connectedwithviolenceamongteenagersandsocialconflictsarisingfrom
thegrowinginfluxofimmigrantsfromvariouscountriesoccurtobemost
transparenthere.
Theseconflictsarepartlyconnectedwiththerevivingradical,rightist
movementwhoseactiviststendtoaddresstheirpropagandatoschoolstu-
dentsandhencetriggeractsofviolenceagainstanythingwhatisalienand
notGerman.TheGermangroupconsistedofteachers,pedagoguesandso-
cialworkersemployedinBrandenburg.Itistherethatthenumberofcon-
flictsandthescopeofviolencedirectedatforeignersaresignificantlyhigher
comparedtootherregionsinGermany.ThatiswhyourGermancolleagues
attachsomuchimportancetoeducationalworkwithteenagersinthisfield.
BranderburgisaleadingregioninGermanyasfarasvariousnationaland
internationalprojectsconnectedwiththepreventionofviolenceandspread
oftoleranceareconcerned.Theinitiativeandinvolvementofvariouspeople
innumerousprojectsdirectedatteenagersandstudentsofvariousschools
canonlybeadmired.
Thusifwelookfromaglobalperspectiveontheideaofthisoneaswell
asotherinternationalprojectsandtheirpracticalbenefitsitcancertainlybe
statedthattheyhaveadeepmeaning.Theyleadtoabettermutualunder-
standingandhencehelptobreakthestereotypesfrequentlystillrootedin
theawarenessofmanyEuropeans.
Jointworkalwaysresultsinavaluableexchangeofexperienceaswell
asinlearningaboutnewwaysofsolvingspecificproblems.Sometimesthe
valueoftheprojectmaylieonlyingainingadifferentexternalperspec-
tiveonone,sproblems.Whilecarryingoutjointprojectsonebecomescon-
vincedthatproblemsbotheringonegrouparenorexclusivelyspecificfor
them.Many‘national,,problemsturnouttobeuniversalincharacterand
arenotnationallyorgeographicallyconditioned.Thefactthatsymptomsof
lonelinessdonotoccurintheawarenessofpeoplewhoattempttodosome-
