2.BasicLegalRegulations

Legislationwithinthescopeoftheenvironmentalprotectionandwastemanagementis

averyextendedfield,inparticularaftertheaccessofPolandtotheEuropeanUnion.

Thefirstactonchemicalwastewasenteredintoforcein1997andwasthoroughly

amendedin2001.Theactsrelatedtothisactare:"EnvironmentalProtectionLaw”,Act

onwaste,Actonpackagingsandpackagingwaste,Actonobligationsofentrepreneurs

withinthescopeofwastemanagement,Actonwasteclassification,andnumerouslocal

ordinances.Notcomplyingwiththeregulationsresultsincriminalresponsibilityin

aformofafineorevenalossofliberty.

Themostimportantlegalactsrelatedtothewastemanagementaccordingtothestate

by31December2007arelistedbelow.
